Hi, I am Tatiana, a.k.a. Tatu, a half Greek half German stay at home mom of three wonderfully challenging little humans, one needy, almost stalker-like, lovely mixture of 35-breeds rescued dog, and wife to THE ONE partner in crime.

I was raised by my free-spirited, colourful, vibrant, artist mom in the 80s who never minded the mess I made in the kitchen while trying out different recipes from the first series of cookbooks I ever owned (UNICEF’s illustrated children’s recipes from all over the world).  She loved to cook and was lucky enough to learn alongside the greatest cook of the family: my great grandmother from Istanbul. The spices, the lovely flavour of the slowly braised melt in your mouth onions, the stuffed vine leaves with rice, pine nuts and raisins, the tiniest and most flavourful meatballs and the crispiest fries in the world are some of the finest culinary memories I have from her that have stayed with me ever since.

One of our favourite times of the year was the Advent (four Sundays before Christmas) when my mom decorated the house like there was no tomorrow and we were allowed to ‘overdose’ on typical German culinary treats like Dresdner Stollen, chocolate covered marzipan and butter cookies.

I feel very fortunate to have been exposed to a wide range of different culinary dishes throughout my life and although at times they seemed completely contradicting each other (the use of butter and cream in the German cuisine vs the use of olive oil in the Greek)  they all had one thing in common. They were always homemade with an abundance of love.

After more than two decades of passionately cooking for my family and friends I decided to share my tips, tricks and recipes by preparing something from scratch to create bites full of flavour and good for your body and soul, my wonder bites.

I hope you enjoy the stay.
